Mohan had good songs – normal melodies. But with Karthick it was something out of the usual thinking process – films such as Gobura Vaasalile, Naadodi thendral, agni natchatiram, mouna ragam etc… brilliant. But the ultimate is with Kamal where the regular melodies also featured as well as masterful ones such as Enna Satham indha neram from punnagai mannan. Third is only Mohan or Rajinikanth.

I would have to disagree, I think the best combo with Rja sir is with actor mohan

The combination of illayaraja and mani ratnam was awesome in late 80’s.They gave movies like anjali,thalapathy,mouna ragam,and this movie.But those time are over after ar rehman.

Yesudas’ Tamil version of the songs were miles ahead of SPB Telugu versions, the latter were not a patch on KJY’s. Probably for the Telugu audience SPB’s version sounded better.

Those SPB songs have alreday dated. But listen to this KJY version, it is as fresh as it was then.
